President Ruto camp and rival political players are plotting to turn this to their advantage in 2027 with detailed projections on areas to target.
This comes on the back of a renewed push by Gen Z to enlist more young people using “Tuko Kadi” initiative.
While 22 million voters were registered as of August 2022, the electoral commission aims to list 6.3 million more before August 2027.
Additionally, the figures highlight a gap of 12 million Kenyans with ID cards who are not yet registered, alongside 14 million Gen Z individuals projected to be eligible by 2027.
Since the latest enhanced registration drive began in late 2025, approximately 250,391 new voters have been added to the roll.
