Amos Maina: Heartbroken Widow Speaks Painfully after Hubby Is Killed at Bar in Mirema Drive
A family in Nairobi has been plunged into mourning following the sudden and tragic death of their loved one, Amos Maina, under unclear circumstances.
The 32-year-old journalist passed away at an entertainment venue along Mirema Drive, leaving his family devastated and searching for answers.
His grieving wife, Regina Maina, tearfully recounted her last moments with her husband, explaining that he had left home on that fateful Sunday at 4 pm.
She expected him to return that same evening, only to be struck with the devastating news a few hours later that he was dead.
“He was such a good man, and I feel that something is terribly wrong. When I arrived, I found him sitting in a chair at the bar. He was missing one shoe, and he appeared unconscious. His eyes were closed, and he looked as though he was asleep, but he wasn’t responding to anything,” Regina recalled, her voice breaking.
The young widow explained that they insisted on viewing the CCTV footage from the venue in hopes of uncovering any details that might explain what happened to her husband.
According to Regina, the venue owner initially refused to provide the footage but later offered them the wrong password when they insisted.
Peter Maina, Amos’s brother, called for justice and speedy investigations to find whoever was responsible for his demise.
“When I arrived, I found him slumped at the bar with his head resting on the table and his hands hanging down. I tried to wake him, even pouring water on him, but he didn’t respond.”
A post-mortem conducted at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital suggested that Amos may have been poisoned, which led to his death.
