Mr Simon Shange, the Principal of Munyuki Secondary School, left his home on Monday 3rd November to check on his students who were about to start their KCSE examinations.
Like many dedicated teachers, he wanted to ensure everything was in order for his candidates. Sadly, he never made it to school that morning.
A few hours later, his vehicle was found vandalized along the roadside. According to witnesses, the car had rammed into a truck and moments after the crash, an unidentified man was seen walking away from the scene unharmed before boarding a motorcycle and speeding off.
What made the situation even more mysterious was that investigators from Lumakanda Police Station reported that Mr Shange’s phone signal did not place him anywhere near that location at the time of the incident.
His family began a desperate search, visiting hospitals and police stations across Kakamega, hoping to find him alive. Days of agony followed and their worst fears were eventually confirmed. Mr Simon Shange was found dead.
His body had been brutally tortured and dumped in the Kipkaren River, ending the life of a man known for his kindness, discipline, and commitment to education.
The family is now demanding justice for their loved one. The community of Munyuki is mourning a man who dedicated his life to shaping the future of young people.
