Kericho Governor Erick Mutai has dismissed his impeachment by the County Assembly, terming the process illegitimate and tainted by manipulation.
Mutai claims the voting exercise was compromised, alleging that the electronic system used had been interfered with, allowing some assembly staff to pre-vote even before the official session began.
The Governor insists that the outcome was predetermined and designed to push him out of office. He further revealed that he intends to challenge the impeachment through legal avenues, stating that he possesses additional evidence to prove massive irregularities in the process.
As the political battle unfolds, attention now shifts to the courts where Mutai hopes to overturn the assembly’s decision.
