MOSCOW, 2nd February 2026 โ Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Russia’s Chechnya region and a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, has taken a strong stance against any negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Speaking to reporters at the Kremlin today during President Putin’s meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Kadyrov declared:
“I believe the war must be taken to its conclusionโฆ I am against negotiations.”
Kadyrov, who has long positioned himself as a prominent war hawk and refers to himself as Putin’s “foot soldier,” emphasized that Russia’s “special military operation” must proceed until its objectives are fully achieved. This comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts, including U.S.-led talks, to resolve the now four-year-old conflict.
