MOSCOW, 2nd February 2026 — Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Russia’s Chechnya region and a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, has taken a strong stance against any negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Speaking to reporters at the Kremlin today during President Putin’s meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Kadyrov declared:
“I believe the war must be taken to its conclusion… I am against negotiations.”

Kadyrov, who has long positioned himself as a prominent war hawk and refers to himself as Putin’s “foot soldier,” emphasized that Russia’s “special military operation” must proceed until its objectives are fully achieved.
