Former DP Rigathi Gachagua has publicly apologized to Kenyans over what he calls “political mistakes” he made during the 2022 General Election campaigns. He says some of the choices he defended then have turned out to hurt the very people they were meant to help.
Gachagua admits he campaigned hard for a candidate he now accuses of pushing policies that weaken youth empowerment, especially in the digital economy.
He says he has reflected, listened to young people, and is now determined to do things differently as the country moves toward the next election.
According to him, leadership is about admitting when you are wrong, learning from it and changing course.
He says the next phase of his politics will focus on protecting youth opportunities, supporting innovation and making sure no generation is sacrificed for political convenience.
