BREAKING: Museveni Leads Uganda Presidential Race as Partial Results Are Released

Kampala, Uganda | 16th Jan 2026

President Yoweri Museveni is leading Uganda’s presidential race with 76.25% (about 3.9 million votes), while opposition leader Bobi Wine has 19.85% (about 1.3 million votes), according to figures released by the Electoral Commission.

As of Friday morning, results from 45% of polling stations had been reported, according to CNN’s Larry Madowo.
