What You Don’t Know About Didmus Wekesa Barasa

Didmus Wekesa Barasa was born in Bungoma County and studied at Kimilili Secondary School before joining JKUAT, where he earned a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He later pursued postgraduate studies in Australia, specializing in Occupational Health, Safety, and Security.

He worked in health, safety, and logistics roles with firms such as Shell in Australia, BollorΓ© Africa Logistics, and also served with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) before venturing into politics. In 2017, he was elected Member of Parliament for Kimilili Constituency and later joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). In 2025, he declared his bid for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat in 2027.
