The coordinated operation, carried out by elite elements of the Somali National Army (SNA) specifically the 203rd Unit of the 20th Brigade of the Gorgor Commandos, resulted in the arrest of a high-value target identified as Salaad Macalin Cusmaan Cabdiyow, also known as “Salaad Dheere.”
The planned, intelligence-led raid took place in the village of Soo-Maray, approximately 5 kilometers west of Mubaarak in the Lower Shabelle region.
His capture represents a significant tactical and operational success for Somali and African Union forces, as he was considered a persistent and high-threat figure within the insurgency network in Lower Shabelle.
