A young entrepreneur from Eldoret has shared how he transformed his small roadside kiosk into a thriving and profitable business within less than one year.
According to him, he started the kiosk with very little capital after failing to secure formal employment. The small shop sold basic household items such as sugar, soap, bread, and soft drinks. At first, he was hopeful that the business would grow slowly with time. However, months passed and the shop struggled to attract enough customers to sustain itself.
He says there were days when he could sit in the kiosk the whole day and make only a few small sales. Meanwhile, other nearby businesses seemed to be doing much better. The slow sales made it difficult to restock goods, pay rent, and cover daily expenses. At one point, he even considered closing the business because he felt his efforts were not paying off.
