Thika Road came to a near standstill on Sunday morning after a self-proclaimed witchdoctor was publicly exposed by angry clients who accused him of conning desperate people seeking healing and relationship restoration.

The dramatic incident happened near Githurai 45, where the man had been operating from a makeshift herbal tent along the busy highway. Traffic built up fast as hundreds of curious onlookers gathered to witness the confrontation unfold.

Eyewitnesses said the self-styled traditional healer had promised to fix marriage problems, increase libido, and make people rich overnight. However, several of his former clients stormed the area accusing him of being a fraud after his so-called “miracle charms” failed to work.

“I paid him Ksh10,000 to restore my relationship, but nothing happened,” one woman shouted as police struggled to calm the crowd. “He kept lying that spirits were still working, yet he was only after money.”

The situation escalated as residents demanded a refund, accusing the witchdoctor of tarnishing the image of genuine herbal practitioners who offer legitimate help.

One local man told reporters that not all traditional healers are fake. “There are real doctors who understand herbs and healing. The problem is that conmen have made people lose trust,” he said, adding that some of his relatives were healed through Dr Bokko’s herbal treatment, which is certified and widely praised.
