The United Kingdom has announced additional military support for Saudi Arabia as Houthi attacks intensify, with Royal Air Force Typhoon fighters set to conduct defensive air patrols to protect Saudi cities and critical infrastructure from incoming missiles and drones.
Britain will also provide an RAF A400M transport aircraft and military advisers to support Saudi defensive operations. London has stressed that the Typhoon missions will not involve offensive strikes against Houthi targets.
Meanwhile, Egypt is moving closer to potential military involvement, with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi seeking parliamentary authorization to deploy forces if Saudi Arabia requests assistance.
Egypt has pledged to provide all possible support to protect Saudi security, while reported options include air defense systems and aircraft to help intercept incoming threats. However, parliamentary approval for a possible deployment remains pending.
The developments mark a widening regional response to Houthi attacks, raising concerns over further escalation across the Arabian Peninsula and the Red Sea.
