Iran is reportedly preparing to transfer the captured American Anduril Dive-LD autonomous underwater vehicle to the IRGC Aerospace Force for detailed technical analysis and reverse-engineering, according to a Tasnim News columnist.
The advanced U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle was reportedly captured intact near the Strait of Hormuz, potentially giving Tehran access to sensitive technologies.
The U.S. began procuring Dive-LD systems under the Replicator initiative in 2024, with UUVRON-1 reportedly receiving its first system in 2025.
Iran could seek to examine the platform’s sensors, autonomous navigation, communications and payload capabilities.
Even more significant, the report suggests Tehran could eventually share elements of the technology with Moscow and Beijing, potentially turning one captured U.S. system into a broader technology-transfer opportunity.
