All Etihad flights to and from Zayed International Airport have been suspended until 2pm on Tuesday, March 3, Etihad Airways has confirmed.
In a statement, the airline said all services operating to and from its home base in Abu Dhabi will remain suspended until tomorrow afternoon, extending the earlier halt to operations.
The disruption comes as regional airspace closures continue to impact Gulf carriers.
Etihad, like fellow long haul airlines Emirates and Qatar Airways, primarily serves long haul travellers, many of whom have seen their travel plans affected, The Express reported.
Blasts have been heard in Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE with a death reported after debris fell on a residential area.
