President Museveni has moved to remove Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki following concerns over governance failures, disputed aircraft procurement, and growing financial losses at the national carrier.
The decision followed a closed-door State House meeting in September 2025, where the President reportedly lost confidence in the airlineโs leadership. Uganda Police CID and the State House Anti-Corruption Unit are now investigating alleged abuse of office, embezzlement, and false accounting involving airline officials.
In an internal memo, Bamuturaki informed staff that the board will soon advertise the CEO position, signalling an imminent leadership change. Investigators are reviewing procurement records, revenue handling, fuel contracts, ticketing arrangements, and the airlineโs London route finances.Uganda Airlines CEO Set to Exit as Investigations Intensify.
