A pathology report has confirmed that former Cabinet Minister and Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo died from severe chest injuries sustained in a road accident in Naivasha on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Government pathologist Johansen Oduor, together with family-appointed pathologists, revealed on Wednesday, December 17, that Jirongo’s death was caused by blunt force trauma. The findings were shared at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi, where the postmortem was conducted.
The report detailed that Jirongo suffered extensive injuries, including multiple rib fractures, a perforated heart, and internal bleeding in the chest cavity. Crush injuries also affected his abdomen, while fractures were identified on both lower limbs and the right hand.
Pathologists concluded that these severe injuries were the primary cause of death, confirming that the former Minister for Rural Development’s passing was a direct result of the crash.
