Update: Bad News To Kenyan Football

Former Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat filed a claim with FIFA several months ago over unpaid salary arrears estimated at around Ksh 75 million.

Kenya was given a deadline to settle the amount but failed to meet it, missing multiple deadlines in the process.

FIFA is now set to withhold 20% of Kenya’s FIFA development funding from January 2026.

If the Football Kenya Federation does not comply with the directive to pay Firat, the case will be referred to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee for further sanctions.
