It has now been four months since Jeff Koinange disappeared from the airwaves, particularly from his 9 PM news program on Citizen TV every Wednesday, JKL (Jeff Koinange Live).

Jeff, now aged 59, had previously introduced Ayub Abdikadir to cover the news segment so he could focus on the interview portion on the JKL bench. This came after he began struggling with reading the teleprompter, often adjusting his glasses and missing some lines.

A few weeks later, Jeff vanished. Neither he nor Royal Media Services made any announcements regarding his disappearance.

It is highly unusual for Jeff to be absent from both TV and radio… Citizen TV and Hot 96 FM. The veteran journalist is now missing in action, and many didn’t know his whereabouts.

Being such a skilled and experienced interviewer, I only wish he had been in the newsroom last month to dissect the history of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga by speaking with his fellow political veterans.

Despite his absence, JKL continues to run on Citizen TV. That is how influential the man is. Hopefully, those of us who admire his journalism will see him back on air soon.
