President Salva Kiir Mayardit has relieved Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel from his position as Vice President for the Economic Cluster and no replacement has been made.

In a separate directive, President Kiir also dismissed Dr. Bol Mel from his role as the First Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM party and no replacement has been made.

Additionally, the President has demoted Gen. Benjamin Bol Mel to the rank of private and dismissed him from the National Security Service.
