
Every young woman dreams of a happy and fulfilling marriage, but maintaining one’s values and beliefs while navigating relationships can be challenging, especially when there are pressures to conform to society’s expectations. For many women, the decision to stay pure until marriage is one of the most difficult choices to make, but it is also one of the most empowering. For Amina, a 28-year-old woman from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, preserving her virginity was important for both spiritual and personal reasons. However, as she got older, the challenges she faced in keeping this promise became more complicated.
