It is not everybody that you should allow into your space. It’s not everybody that is qualified to be your friend. A lot of people can be colleagues, classmates, neighbours, etc, but not friends.

Consider the following when choosing your friends:

  1. YOUR PURPOSE:
Discovery of purpose determines choice of friends. A vast majority of your friends will likely be in your area of purpose.
  2. YOUR VISION:
Your vision determines your association. It is dangerous to walk with someone that is not heading towards your direction and destination.
  3. YOUR VALUES:
Befriend people that share same values with you. Your friend must be someone that subscribes to your values.
  4. YOUR FUTURE
Who you walk with today will determine where you will end tomorrow. Show me your friend and I will show you how you will end.

Conclusively,
Not having a friend at all is better than having many fake friends around you.
One good friend is better than 10 fake friends.

“A true friend loves regardless of the situation, and a real brother exists to share the tough times.”
Proverbs 17:17 VOICE

UNDERSTANDING THE DYNAMICS OF FRIENDSHIP

Someone with many so-called friends may end up friendless, but a true friend is closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24 VOICE

The man of too many friends [chosen indiscriminately] will be broken in pieces and come to ruin, But there is a [true, loving] friend who [is reliable and] sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24 AMP

A lot of people make the mistake of believing that having very many friends will help them to succeed in their endeavor. Unfortunately, the reverse turns out to be the case, as a man with many friends ends up destroying himself and his venture.

Wisdom demands that one has a few relevant friends, instead of many friends that are actually enemies in disguise.

A true friend ends up becoming a brother. A true friend stands by you through the storms of life and helps you to succeed.
