Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has firmly rejected reports suggesting a temporary agreement with the United States is on the table ahead of this week’s negotiations in Geneva.
Baghaei stated that claims circulated by certain media outlets are “baseless,” reiterating that Tehran’s negotiating position remains unchanged: any agreement must result in the full and permanent lifting of sanctions.
According to the statement, drafting texts in the talks is a joint process between both parties, and Iran’s stance on its nuclear program and sanctions relief has been consistent and transparent.
Tehran added that if all sides approach the upcoming round of discussions in good faith, a positive outcome remains possible when negotiators reconvene in Geneva later this week.
