Police have launched investigations into the death of a truck driver who was found dead inside his vehicle after a prolonged traffic standstill along the Bungoma–Malaba highway near Amagoro in Teso North Sub-County.

The driver, who was transporting clinker to Tororo, Uganda, was discovered slumped over the steering wheel on Wednesday morning at around 3 a.m. after traffic resumed but his truck failed to move. Fellow motorists raised the alarm after getting no response.

Police secured the scene, moved the body to Kocholia Funeral Home, and towed the truck to Amagoro Police Patrol Base. A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death.
