Former Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) Director General Philemon Kandie has been arrested by officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over alleged graft and financial mismanagement.
Kandie was picked up during a night raid at his home on Friday, October 3, and taken to Integrity Centre for questioning. EACC officers seized electronic devices and documents during the operation. Although the commission is yet to disclose full details, early reports link the arrest to alleged corruption during his tenure at KeRRA.
Kandie resigned on July 11, 2025, two years before the end of his term, without giving reasons. His exit followed a High Court petition accusing him of financing June protests through shell companies. He was replaced by Jackson Magondu in an acting capacity.
