Update: Strait of Hormuz Set to Reopen Iran Signals Safe Passage Under Military Coordination

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened for safe maritime transit under coordination with Iranian military forces during the reported two-week ceasefire period.

The move comes after weeks of disruption, as the strait through which roughly one-fifth of global oil supply passes has faced severe restrictions, triggering sharp energy price volatility and fuel shortages in multiple regions.

The reopening could ease pressure on global markets, though the situation remains fragile as broader tensions continue to loom.
