Authorities are coordinating with neighboring states to facilitate evacuations by land and air as regional military tensions surge.
The move follows reports that U.S. President Donald Trump was briefed on potential military strike options against Iran by senior commanders, despite ongoing nuclear negotiations in Geneva.
Beijing has also suspended all travel to Iran and advised citizens remaining in the country to exercise maximum security precautions.
