Tears, Tissues And Tough Questions At The Senate

Photos have surfaced today showing Governor Barchok having what experts are now calling “the longest afternoon of his political life” after being firmly, but politely, placed on the hot seat by the Senate County Public Investments Committee over alleged mismanagement of public resources.

Witnesses say the room was calm… until the questions started.

At first, the Governor walked in confidently, chin up, suit sharp, handshake strong, the kind of entrance that says “I have nothing to hide.”Thirty minutes later? Same suit… but now accompanied by:

A trembling voice
Aggressive blinking 👀
And tears that refused to be budgeted for 💧

Senators reportedly asked simple questions, like:
“Governor, where did this money go?”
“Why was this project paid for twice?”
“Who approved this?”

And suddenly, the Governor discovered a deep emotional connection to public finance.
Photos show Governor Barchok pausing mid-answer, staring into the distance like a man remembering happier campaign days, when promises were free and audits were just rumors.

At one point, sources claim he sighed deeply and said, “Chair, let me explain,” before explaining everything except the question.

Observers noted that the tears appeared right after a senator said the dreaded words:
“We have documents.”

That sentence alone has caused emotional breakdowns in at least 12 committee rooms nationwide.

As the grilling intensified, the Governor was seen dabbing his eyes with a handkerchief that clearly did not expect this level of stress when it left home this morning. Body language experts confirmed:
These were not crocodile tears.
These were budget-deficit tears.

Meanwhile, Kenyans on social media reacted swiftly:
“Public money is crying too.”
“Even the tears need an audit.”
“This is why we said keep receipts.”

The Senate Committee, unmoved by the emotional display, calmly reminded the Governor that:
“Feelings are not vouchers.”

By the end of the session, Governor Barchok looked like a man who had:
Lost control of the narrative
Lost track of the figures
And briefly lost faith in public service

As he exited the chamber, cameras caught one final dramatic wipe of the eye,a scene that will live forever in Kenyan political folklore, right next to:
Walkouts 🚶‍♂️
Heated exchanges.
And the famous line: “I was misquoted.”

One thing is certain:
Today, the Senate didn’t just audit accounts…
It audited emotions.
