‎Ronald Nyakohe burned his house in Mukuru Kwa Njenga’s Boma Yangu Estate (affordable houses), sparking a fire that spread to neighbouring houses. The blaze damaged household items, killed an eight-year-old girl, and left three other victims including his wife with burn injuries.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital. The 27-year-old was arrested in Isinya, where he had been hiding, and confessed to committing the act after his wife attempted to leave him following financial difficulties.

He said he could not imagine enduring the breakup after having invested so heavily in the marriage. Nyakohe is expected to be taken to court today.
