The Latest Scam Hitting The Desperate Job Seekers

I was genuinely disturbed by something I read yesterday. The level some people will sink to just to fleece a few coins is truly appalling.

This is a critical warning about a new con hitting job seekers that you MUST share with anyone currently looking for work.

It’s a dirty business, and any job seeker could fall for it. It works like this. The scammer posts a sumptuous job advert and invites applications. They (cons) spend time to make it look entirely legitimate.

You apply, full of hope, only to receive a message shortly after that reads, “Congratulations! You qualify for the job, but your CV needs revamping.”

This is immediately followed by a solution. They claim they have partnered with a top-tier CV writing company (which is really just them) and pressure you to pay for the service, guaranteeing the job is yours once your CV is fixed.

This is how desperate job seekers, clinging to a single thread of hope, are being conned out of their money.

This scam hit me immediately. I remembered a friend who reached out to me after receiving this exact message.

As much as I didn’t want to break his hope, I told him to be extremely careful, because this logic has a serious problem.

If anyone tells you that you qualify for a job but your CV is bad, you must stop and ask yourself how you qualified in the first place.

Your CV is the only piece of information they have about you. It’s the simple breakdown of their logic that reveals the con.

Please don’t fall for this. You don’t need an expert all the time. With basic research and the right tools (AI), you can constantly improve your own CV. You get better with time.

Here’s what you should take away: Always Verify, Never Rush. Before paying any company promising guaranteed placement, verify the job, the company, and the person separately.
