President Alassane Ouattara Of Ivory Coast Has Secured A Fourth Term After Winning 89.77% Of The Votes

President Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast has secured a fourth term after winning 89.77% of the vote, according to official results.

The 83-year-old faced no major rivals after top opposition figures were barred from running.

His closest rivals, Jean-Louis Billon and former First Lady Simone Gbagbo, conceded defeat after capturing just 3% and 2.4% of the vote, respectively.

Turnout stood at 50.10 percent β€” similar to the 2020 election, when Ouattara won 94 percent amid an opposition boycott.

Quattara’s landslide victory extends his 14-year rule and reinforces his dominance in Ivorian politics.
