In a heartfelt and emotional TikTok LIVE, the late journalist Kimani Mbugua’s father expressed deep disappointment towards Citizen TV’s management, accusing them of insensitivity after they allegedly asked him to pay for an announcement of his son’s death.

Visibly heartbroken, he called out media mogul S.K. Macharia, saying that Kimani had served the station faithfully and passionately, even while struggling with illness.

“My son worked for you, waking up early every morning to make your brand shine. He fell sick while still under your employment, and now even in death, you cannot honor him unless I pay? I am burying my son as a poor man, but remember—pesa huisha,” he said emotionally.
