Boni Khalwale Reveals Raila’s Chosen Political Successor

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has opened up about a powerful revelation: the late Raila Odinga once picked his daughter, Rosemary Odinga, as his political successor after the heartbreaking loss of his eldest son, Fidel.

Speaking on a local TV station, Khalwale shared that Raila had full faith in Rosemary’s leadership potential and encouraged her to start her political journey in Kibra. He even recalled accompanying her to her first rally at Kamukunji Grounds, where she wowed the crowd with her confidence, intelligence, and charisma.

At the time, Raila dismissed any ideas of Raila Junior being the successor, as he had little political presence. Instead, Rosemary stood out for her deep understanding of her father’s political vision.

However, Rosemary’s political dreams faced a major setback in 2017 when she fell ill and lost her sight temporarily. After treatment in India, she regained her health, but her ambitions slowed. Despite this, Khalwale believes Rosemary’s intelligence and experience could still make her a key player in Kenya’s political future.

On the other hand, Winnie Odinga, Raila’s youngest daughter, has sparked fresh discussions after hinting at returning to local politics after her tenure at the East African Legislative Assembly.
