If Fred Matiang’i is interested in becoming the next president of Kenya, he must attack President William Ruto head-on! Anytime he scolds the Kenya Kwanza administration, he has been avoiding mentioning Ruto by name.

The reason why Riggy G is increasingly becoming conspicuous as a viable presidential contender despite the “impeached DP” tag is that he refers to Ruto as “Kasongo”, “Mwizi”, “Muuaji” & “Kaongo.”

For Kibaki to defeat Uhuru in 2002, he framed Uhuru as Moi’s project and a “toddler” who could not lead the nation to prosperity. For Uhuru to defeat Raila in 2013 and in 2017, he referred to Agwambo as “Kimundu Muguruki”, “Mganga” and “kihí.”

In the 2022 presidential poll, Ruto could not finish his speeches without using the same words Uhuru used years before to attack Baba. Dr Fred Matiang’i must learn this kind of politics. He must begin to attack Ruto grotesquely.

Okengo must avoid generalising his attacks. Eti, “hawa watu wenye wanapora nchi yetu siwezi fanya kazi nao.” This is too dim. Matiang’i has a PhD in Literature and Comparative Literature. He must use his PhD to manufacture a combative language that shall reduce Ruto into smithereens.
