From the Verge of Dismissal to Untouchable, How I Protected My Job During the Biggest Scandal of My Life

I still get chills every time I think about that dreadful week. I had worked so hard to land my permanent and pensionable government job. For me, it was not just a job, it was my lifeline. It paid the mortgage, kept my children in good schools, and gave my ageing parents peace of mind.

But one reckless mistake almost brought it all crumbling down.

It started as a small office game that went too far. Some of my colleagues and I found a way to “adjust” certain procurement reports. At first it felt harmless; we told ourselves, “Everybody does it… it’s just survival.” But when the internal audit uncovered discrepancies, everything exploded.

Within a few days, our names were on the investigation list. The scandal hit the headlines. I remember sitting in the office boardroom as our boss looked at us with pure disappointment. The whispers in the corridors, the stares from colleagues who had once admired us the shame was unbearable.

HR issued letters notifying us of possible termination and legal action. I went home that night in tears. I imagined my children being sent home for school fees, my house being repossessed, my reputation gone. It felt like my life was over.

One of my colleagues quit immediately. Another was hospitalized for stress. I was stuck between panic and despair. I prayed, but my heart was restless. I knew I needed something beyond the ordinary to shield me.

That’s when a long-time friend whispered a name to me, Dr Bokko.
At first I dismissed it. “How can a traditional healer help in a government scandal?” I wondered. But as things worsened, I reached out to him out of desperation.

When I called +254 769404965, Dr Bokko’s calm voice surprised me. I expected a mystic or someone harsh, but instead he listened as though he’d known me for years. I confessed everything the mistakes, my fears, the shame.

He said something that still echoes in my heart:

“Sometimes the world judges harshly, but destiny can be protected. If your job is your foundation, I will shield it. But you must promise to walk straight after this.”
