Police have arrested the prime suspect in the brutal murder of Mama Lucy Ooko from Sega, Siaya County.

The young Ugandan, who had only worked at her home for three days, was last spotted with Mama Lucy on Friday before she mysteriously went missing. After three days of searching, her body was tragically found on Monday, buried in a shallow hole within her compound.

The suspect fled to Uganda in an attempt to evade arrest, but was later tracked down and is now in custody to face justice.

Mama Lucy Ooko will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Sega, Siaya County.
