A major victory for former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as the High Court dismisses an application by the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA) that wanted to seize KSh 537 million from his bank accounts.
Justice Nixon Sifuna ruled that ARA failed to provide sufficient evidence linking Sonko to any illicit financial dealings, and ordered the immediate release of the frozen funds.
This decision comes as a relief for Sonko, who has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation, and marks a significant legal win in his ongoing battle with the agency.
