Sad As 90 Buffaloes Died On Tuesday

90 buffaloes died on Tuesday morning around five o’clock after trampling each other near Kavimba village in Kabulabula, Zambezi Region.

The buffaloes were running away from lions that were chasing them from one of the islands in Botswana.

Elizabeth Sikabongo, a ranger based at Impalila Island, confirmed the incident to NBC News this morning at the scene.

In 2019, a large number of buffaloes also trampled each other in the same area, and over a hundred buffaloes did so in the same spot in 2023.

This is the third buffalo trampling incident in five years in the Kabulabula Conservancy.
