The husband to a woman alleged to have faked abduction in order to escape from her marriage has been charged with providing false information to the police.

Brian Luseka Andole, was arraigned before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi in Nairobi where the prosecution alleged that he provided false information concerning his alleged wife’s whereabouts.

According to the police, Brian on November 9, 2024, at Kitusuru Police Post in Nairobi falsely informed PC Joseph Ledama that his wife Mercylin Awour had gone missing.

The said police officer consequently initiated a report writing process in the police station’s Occurrence Book for commencement of inquiry into the purported disappearance, an act the prosecution said ought not to have been done if the true state of facts were known to the police.

The accused pled guilty to the offence and the file was allocated a later date for facts, conviction and sentencing.
