The government has announced a 6% increase in the minimum wage, effective November 1, 2024:
βUnskilled employee: Sh7,997 per month
βStockman, herdsman:Sh9,235 per month
βHouse servant or cook: Sh9,129 per month
βFarm foreman:Sh14,247 per month
βFarm clerk: Sh14,427 per month
βSenior foreman: Sh9,339 per month
βFarm artisan: Sh9,558 per month
βTractor driver: Sh10,136 per month
βCombine harvester driver: Sh11,166 per month
βLorry driver or car driver: Sh11,718 per month
This decision follows months of negotiations involving the government, trade unions, and employers.
