The president William Ruto today held a meeting with top leaders led by the Pan-African parliament president Hon Zephaniah Charumbira. The president William Ruto continued by saying that AU should be given sufficient authority to make decisions. “Institutional reforms of the African Union (AU) are critical in empowering the organisation to substantively serve the 55 Member States.

Consequently, the AU Commission needs to be given sufficient authority to make decisions, while the Pan-African Parliament should get oversight and legislative powers over the Commission.
