Mary Indumuli has flaunted a modest house that she built for her mum against all odds and after dumping her husband back in Kenya.
All was well for the family until 2012, when Indimuli’s dad died and left them in the care of their dear mum. Although some people pledged to help the family but did not come through in the end.
“My mum had to remove the roof on our house, so that she could sell them and use the proceeds to educate us,” she said.
“I completed Class Eight and my two brothers were lucky to sit for their Fomr Four exams. I was eent to live with a neighbour’s child and she bought me books , bags and apid my school fees, They helepd me until Fomr Four,” she added.
After high school, life was very difficult for Indimuli and she went to work as a housegirl which was hard for her. She got an an opportunity to go to Sauid Arabia but when she arrived at the airport she was returned on grounds of being unhealthy for the job.
“My mum had sold a calf to buy me a phone but in the end I never went. I was very embarrased and people mocked my mum. I decided to go live with my boyfriend,” she said.
“I stayed with my boyfriend and we got a child and life was very difficult. I hustled in 2020 but later started looking for my passport secretly. I was given a clean bill of health
In February 2021, when my baby was seven months I left for my dad’s memorial service despite my husband forbidding me.
I went home targeting to fly and had no intention fo returning home. The office called me and gave me only two weeks to prepare and i left my baby with my sister. and ai came to Saudi. In Saudi I got a job in a school . I have changed the face of my home and i even b built my mum a modest house and she doesn’t see the sky while sleeping. i want my child to have a better life.
