Here is the Cabinet brief on Bomas development, note the dates. This responds to Rigathi Gachagua’s baseless claims:
On 8th August 2023, a Cabinet sitting at the Sagana State lodge approved the establishment of an ultra-modern convention centre that will be known as the Bomas International Convention Centre (BICC).
The dispatch released after the meeting stated the intention of the development as aimed at positioning Kenya as the destination of choice for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
Mr. Gachagua’s capacity to “oppose” anything in Cabinet was greatly limited by his own distractions. He was frequently engrossed in his phone, scrolling through WhatsApp groups, memes, and online gossip. As a result, he failed to grasp the key issues discussed in Cabinet meetings. It is difficult to understand how someone could fail to recall the details of a meeting they attended—one might question whether this reflects a lack of attention or understanding.
Kenyans should know we are dealing with a man who is both foolish and mad.
