Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence on why he was absent during the June 25th demonstrations.
“If I had turned up in the streets on Wednesday, it would have given credit to those very ridiculous accusations that I’m the one who finances Gen Z. I deliberately kept off because the Gen Z had asked us to keep off.” He revealed
Gachagua said he respected the youth’s call for independence and wanted to avoid politicizing their movement. He maintained that the protests belonged to the people, and his presence would have shifted the focus.
