The Nairobi International Trade Fair was officially opened today at Jamhuri grounds by Deputy President H.E Rigathi Gachagua, who commended the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) management for this year’s exhibition.

During the event, Deputy Inspector General KPS Mr. Eliud Lagat, DIG Administration Police Service Mr. Gilbert Masengeli and the Deputy Director DCI Mr. John Onyango S/AIG along with other representatives from both services and the DCI, visited the National Police Service (NPS) stand. The team expressed satisfaction with the presentations made by exhibitors.

At the DCI’s Anti-Narcotics Unit stand, DIG KPS Mr. Eliud Lagat praised the detectives for their commendable efforts in combating the sale, distribution and consumption of narcotics in the country. He urged the detectives to maintain the momentum in protecting Kenyan youth from the menace.

Mr. Lagat also encouraged the call center agents at the DCI’s Fichua kwa DCI desk to enhance public awareness campaigns, informing citizens about the types of crimes that can be reported via the toll-free number, which has recently proven effective in gathering actionable intelligence.

Thanks to well-coordinated exhibitions, the National Police Service won three trophies out of six competitive categories. NPS Director Planning Mr. David Njagi, AIG, received the trophies on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, awards that were presented by the Deputy President.
