“This morning, Kenya woke up to the devastating news of the tragic loss and severe injury on lovely children of Kieni Hillside Academy in Nyeri County as a result of a terrible pre-dawn fire which razed down their dormitory as the pupils slept.

During this painful and numbling tragedy, the Government extends deep sympathies to the affected families, school fraternity, and surrounding community.

Following the directive by President William Ruto earlier today, all relevant Government agencies have been deployed and instructed to mobilise every possible support and assistance to the affected families as they mourn and seek the truth on what caused the fire leading to the loss and injury of so many young souls.
