A court has issued an arrest warrant for activist Boniface Mwangi after he failed to appear to take plea in an assault case.
Mwangi is accused of assaulting two police officers and using abusive language during separate incidents in April at the Metropolitan Court in Kilimani.
According to the charge sheet, Mwangi allegedly attacked one officer on April 20 while on duty, causing actual bodily harm. A second count claims he assaulted another officer on April 2 at the same location, also causing injury.
He is also accused of using abusive language aimed at provoking a breach of peace.
The court has scheduled July 14 for further directions in the case.
