Burkina Faso has introduced prison reforms

Prisoners and those awaiting trial can now work in agriculture. One month of work reduces their sentence by three months under the new law.

President Ibrahim Traoré stated, “From today, our prisoners will work in agriculture while their sentences are reduced. Our laws must reflect African values.”

He added that many African nations still use colonial-era punishment and rehabilitation methods.

This method will reform and correct a lot of youths who find themselves in prison.
Burkina Faso is being revived by this young leader.
