Former US President Jimmy Carter has died.
Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the US.
He ruled the country between 1977 and 1981 when he lost to Ronald Reagan.
Jimmy has died at 100 years, and is the President who has lived the longest in US history.
He has also become the first US President to have hit 100 years of age.
Additionally, having lived for 43 years past presidency, he has now been the President who lived the longest past his presidency.
This has happened after Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the last general election which was very competitive. The president elect Donald Trump is expected to be sworned in January 2025.
Despite that, all United States residents will remember Jimmy Carter as among the best presidents of their nation.
