ZANIS -Government has warned against illegal land allocation, which it says has negatively affected the vulnerable in society.

Lands Minister, SYLVIA MASEBO has noted that as a result of illegal land allocation, the vulnerable are being displaced off land they have settled on for decades.

Ms MASEBO was speaking in Chongwe district, during a meeting with Heads of Government Departments and the Local Authority.

The Minister, who is also Chongwe Member of Parliament, has since urged the police never to be used by powerful people in society to displace vulnerable communities.

And Chongwe District Commissioner, EVANS LUPIYA has said the district has performed well especially in response to mitigating the impact of climate change.

Dr LUPIYA says interventions, such as Cash for Work, Emergency Cash Transfer, Wetlands and School Feeding Programmes, are all helping to reduce vulnerability among communities.

Meanwhile, in a vote of thanks, Chongwe District Health Director, MWEENE NSELUKE said civil servants will continue to work with integrity and ensure that all resources reach the community.
