FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup kicks off tomorrow, marking a historic moment for Kenya as the Junior Starlets make their debut in a FIFA tournament. This is the first time any Kenyan football team has qualified for a FIFA event.
Junior Starlets have been drawn into Group C, where they will face tough competition against England, North Korea, and Mexico. Their campaign begins on Oct 18th against England, followed by North Korea, and concluding the group stage with Mexico.
North Korea and Spain are the tournament’s most successful teams, each having won the title twice.
